Homemade Sweet Tea Vodka is so simple to make, you’ll want to have a jar of this in your fridge all spring and summer long! Just three ingredients, and you can have a boozy sweet tea cocktail in your glass.
Homemade Sweet Tea Vodka Recipe
Sweet tea vodka is one of my guilty pleasures. When the summer hits, and it is hot outside and I want some kind of cocktail, there’s not really anything better in my book than a glass full of ice, sweet tea vodka, and fresh lemonade.
There are a lot of different brands of this available commercially, but most of them are REALLY sweet, almost syrup-like. That goes a little too far for me, so I really wanted a way to customize the level of sweet without sacrificing the tea flavor.
Turns out, homemade sweet tea vodka is just as easy as homemade sweet tea.

How to make sweet tea vodka
This is less of a recipe and more of just a process. We’ll go with it anyway though.
First, you’ll want to put the vodka in a large mason jar or another container that has a lid.
Next, put the teabags into the vodka.
Put the lid on, and stick the whole thing in the fridge.
Let it sit for a day or so, and then sweeten with simple syrup as much (or as little) as you’d like.
Sometimes, especially if I’m going to be mixing it with lemonade, I skip the simple syrup completely because the lemonade is usually sweet enough.
Eat some Appetizers with your drink!
How do you store sweet tea vodka?
Since vodka doesn’t actually need refrigeration, sweet tea vodka really doesn’t either, but I keep mine in the fridge anyway.
I drink this liqueur chilled, so why not cut down on the amount of ice melt and watering down of things by keeping the main ingredient chilled?
Try this Peach Moonshine for another great cocktail base!
What can you make with sweet tea vodka?
So many things!
My favorite is in a Spiked Arnold Palmer. That’s just boozy sweet tea + lemonade.
You can also make a sweet tea martini by shaking it over ice with a squeeze of lemon inside.
