Homemade Bacon Blue Cheese Dressing Recipe
We love to whip up homemade salad dressings here. Whether it is a creamy homemade Caesar, a bold Greek Vinaigrette, or the random mixtures of oil, vinegar, and spices that we tend to gravitate towards, I love them all.
I was a late convert to bleu cheese dressing. It was firmly on my “do not like” for no given reason until well into my 30’s.
Then, I tried it on some hot wings and my whole world changed. (Another thing I thought I didn’t like during my picky days. WHO doesn’t like buffalo sauce?? Not me anymore, since I branched out!)

1
Mix it!
Mix the mayo, sour cream, buttermilk, lemon juice, salt, and pepper together.
2
Crumble it!
The bacon and blue cheese, that is.
3
Chill it!
It should go in the fridge for at least 30 minutes before serving.
How to store homemade dressing
This should be stored covered in the fridge. We love using mason jars for homemade dressing. It makes it convenient to spoon out as needed.
FAQ
Can you freeze blue cheese dressing?
No. You shouldn’t freeze anything with dairy in it.
How long does blue cheese dressing last in the fridge?
There are no artificial preservatives in this homemade dressing, so it’ll last as long as the ingredient with the shortest shelf life that goes into it. I try and make only as much as I can eat in a few days to a week, max.
