Ingredients

  • 2 pounds chicken pieces bone in skin on
  • 1/4 cup Italian seasoning rub
  • 1/3 cup oil
  • 1/2 cup red wine vinegar
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 medium tomatoes diced
  • 1 medium onion diced
  • 1 whole sliced lemon
  • 3 cloves crushed garlic
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh basil

Instructions

  • Put the chicken and all the other ingredients into a large ziplock bag, close the bag and mix all the ingredients together.
  • Place the bag in the refrigerator for 12-24 hours.
  • Take the chicken out of the marinade and pat dry with a towel.
  • Place the pieces of chicken directly onto the grill preheated to 425 degrees.
  • Turn the chicken over every 6 or 7 minutes to avoid burning one side.
  • Let the chicken cook on the grill for about 25 minutes.
  • Temp check the chicken with a reliable temperature prob.
  • When the internal temperature of the chicken is at least 165 degrees, pull the chicken from the grill and serve with sides.
