This Air Fryer Salmon Recipe takes a fresh salmon filet and cooks it in a rich, garlicky white wine sauce, all with the convenience of an Air Fryer! The salmon cooks on a bed of tomatoes, onions, and garlic, absorbing the flavors while staying moist. The buttery wine sauce is perfect with pasta or rice, or served all on its own. Naan could also be a great option for mopping up this sauce!
Air Fryer Salmon with Wine and Garlic
We can’t get enough salmon around here. Probably because we catch so much of it every year. Living in the Pacific Northwest has many upsides, and fresh wild-caught salmon is one of the best of them.
That leaves us with a lot of salmon to figure out what to do with, so we’ve gone the “Bubba Gump” route and have made SO many delicious salmon recipes. I’ll share a whole list of them below, but some of my very favorites are Traeger Orange Salmon, Blackstone Salmon Sandwich, and our Salmon Miso Poke Bowl.

FAQ
How do I store leftovers?
Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two days.

How do I reheat this dish?
Reheat gently in a skillet over medium-low heat, adding a splash of water or wine to loosen the sauce. Avoid microwaving, as it can dry out the salmon.
Can I prepare this in advance?
You can season the salmon and chop the vegetables ahead of time. Assemble everything just before cooking for the best results.
What substitutions can I make?
- Use chicken broth instead of wine for a non-alcoholic version.
- Swap fresh basil for parsley or thyme for a different flavor profile.

Air Fryer Salmon with Wine and Garlic
Ingredients
- 8 ounce salmon filet skinned and cubed in 1″ pieces
- 1 teaspoon salt divided
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper divided
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 large tomato chopped
- 1/2 medium yellow onion minced
- 2 teaspoons garlic minced
- fresh basil chopped
- 1/2 cup white wine
- 1/2 fresh lemon juiced
- 3 tablespoons butter
Instructions
- Create a foil boat with sides as high as your air fryer will allow. Make sure it isn’t going to leak. This is a saucy recipe! If you have small baking dishes for your air fryer, that is a better alternative.
- Season the salmon with 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/4 teaspoon pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Add the tomato, onion, garlic, and basil to the bottom of the cooking vessel. Pour in the wine and the juice from half a lemon, add the remaining salt and pepper and place the seasoned fish filets on top. Cut the butter into pats and place on top of the fish.
- Place the cooking vessel carefully into your air fryer basket
- Turn the air fryer to 375°F and set for 15 minutes.
- Check the fish after 8 minutes for your preferred level of doneness. It should be ready to eat after 8 minutes, but if you like your fish thoroughly cooked, you can let it ride for the additional time.
- Pull the fish out when it is cooked to your liking, and check the vegetables. If they aren’t quite cooked, continue cooking the vegetables in the wine for a few more minutes.
- Serve in a bowl pouring the cooking liquid and vegetables on top of the fish. We like to serve this over pasta, but that's totally optional! It also goes well over rice.
